It has been my privilege, on several occasions, to work with Rev. John Garrott at events and on missional projects within the United Methodist Church. Each time John brought his unique skills as a pastor, an evangelist, a global missionary, a leadership consultant, and a passionate follower of Jesus Christ. Each time John added insight to the conversation and spiritual maturity to the process. John has been successful in neighborhood evangelism, congregational renewal, and effective growth of an entire district. Over the 28 years I have known John, he has consistently enhanced the teams he leads and the teams he participates in. His proven effectiveness as a strategic missional leader in partnership with the District Superintendent is the most important work I have seen. It is the way to ensure the future for the United Methodist Church—and any other denominations interested in the spiritual vitality of their congregations in a geographic area.
